About Chris

I am a 3rd generation farmer, born and raised in west Modesto. My family and I farm almonds, walnuts, cherries, blueberries, corn, oats and alfalfa. I have been serving as a firefighter for Woodland Ave. Fire Department for the last 18 years, and currently serve as a Battalion Chief for the department.

Growing up in Modesto, I attended St. Stanislaus elementary school, and Modesto High School where I was an active FFA member. After high school, I attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and received a degree in Fruit Science with a minor in Ag Business. After graduating, I worked for Gallo Vineyards Inc. Central Valley, assisting Ranch Managers on day to day vineyard operations before coming back home to join the family farm.

After returning home to help my Dad and brother grow our family farming business, I decided to open our farm to the community for upick blueberries and cherries. This was a way for us to sell direct to consumers.

I enjoy spending time with my wife Courtney, and my two children Makenzie and Harrison.

Why I'm Running

I am running because it is time for a new direction on the MID Board. We need to have Directors who are going to stand up for MID ratepayers as their top priority. MID electricity bills have gone up, as families are dealing with price increases everywhere they look. As MID rates went up, some of the MID Directors voted to sell our water to people outside of the District for $60 an acre-foot - less than what it is worth. That's money lost that could have supported local ratepayers. I want to bring more transparency to the Board. I would be honored to have your vote.
